TCP/IP: Transport Control Protocol / Internet Protocol. The protocol of the Internet and most internets and many intranets.
Browser: Short for Web browser, a software application used to locate and display Web pages. It can display graphics as well as text. In addition, most modern browsers can present multimedia information, including sound and video, though they require plug-ins for some formats.
Internet/intranet: The Internet is a worldwide Internet Protocol (IP)-based computer network that has no central network management. By contrast, intranets are managed IP networks that can be accessed only by specific user groups.
Traceroute: An operation of sending trace packets for determining information; traces the route of UDP packets for the local host to a remote host. Normally traceroute displays the time and location of the route taken to reach its destination computer.
